🛠️ Using the features

Scale Loom changes how the piano roll looks based on the musical scale you pick.

Note Coloring

The software colors notes based on their position in a scale. Root notes appear in one color, while fifths and thirds appear in different shades. This helps you see the structure of your patterns. You can change these colors in the settings menu if you prefer high contrast.

Harmonic Labels

The script adds text stamps to the piano roll. It marks notes as root, third, or fifth. These labels appear in the header of the piano roll window. This makes it easier to spot notes that fit your chosen key.

File Organization

The installer sets up folders for your scales and chord sets. You can access these folders from the “Tools” menu in FL Studio. If you add your own files, the script detects them automatically during the next launch.

💻 System requirements

🖥️ How it works

The software runs as a background script. It monitors the state of your piano roll window. When you change a scale, the script updates the note colors and labels in real time. It uses the FL Studio API to interact with the interface. This ensures that the tool behaves like a native part of the program.

❓ Frequently asked questions

Does this change my audio? No. This tool only changes the visual appearance of the piano roll. It does not affect your plugins or your exported audio files.

Can I use this with older versions of FL Studio? This version is designed specifically for 25.2.4.5242. It might work with others, but we do not support older versions.

The colors look wrong. What do I do? Go to the settings panel and click “Reset to defaults.” This forces the script to redraw the visual elements.
